With Josh, we visited local tourist standby Yamadera for the third time. We've now seen it in fall, early spring (with snow), and early summer. This 1,200-year-old temple complex has 1,100 steps. At the top, you can see a giant Buddha and a flame that was brought from a Kyoto temple 1,100 years ago and has been kept burning here ever since.
