One week into our stay in Japan, we joined all the other foreigners in town (Korean, Chinese, Canadian) at the rear of the biggest celebration in town -- the Hanagasa Festival Parade. We had to go to a two-hour dance class before they'd let us in the parade. The parade itself took us down the main street downtown past thousands of smiling grandmas. After two hours of dancing our way through the crowds, Angie got interviewed by a local newspaper and won a prize -- her very own Hanagasa hat!
